Fairly weak bidding on this nice looking Pontiac.
Going to take some very strong bidding to get this one over the reserve if the asking price on the dealers website of $35500 is any indication:
To quote the seller:
"The name "safari" is derived from the Swahili word safari, which means journey, originally from the Arabic سفر (safar) meaning a journey; the verb for "to travel" in Swahili is kusafiri."
I looked up swahili for overpriced, its "imezidishwa"... maybe someone should reply with that or "bahati njema" for "good luck" getting that price!
I have never see the gauge package with the economy meter before in one of these, usually they have a clock or just a block off plate. You mean you don't think the bidding will approuch the $35,000.00 asking price? LOL!!!!!!
Have no idea what this will finally go for but it is one clean 76 Safari. We may never see a better unrestored example.
I Agree, even if the front Set Cover does not leave me warm or Fuzzy, but it was probably installed early in the cars like after the owners skin stuck to the vinyl covering on a hot day!
Bidding still really weak.
Regarding the seat covers, I remember the Parents doing the same thing to our 76 Vista Cruiser. Just in the front seat also. Helped a lot in winter for the front seat passengers. Same crank windows and power lock setup also.
Costco still sells the sheepskins once in awhile also! Tempted on and off.
I just read the description, they want $33,000 for it and the A/C doesn't work? Really?
On their website it’s $35,500. As much as I like our wagons, you can get a lot of really nice collector cars in that price range. Like a mint boat tail Riviera.
Bombed out today on eBay at $8300.
That means it’ll be back in two days with a BIN price of either $31,500 or $37,000. If it’s true to what we’ve seen on EBay. Still think I would have taken off the seat covers to show condition. Maybe a pic with and without them.
I agree on the seat covers, at least 1 picture without it, And for that asking price fix the A/C!!!!!
Back yet again - apparently this dealer loves to throw away money on eBay.
Does not fix the a/c and back on E-Bay in less than a month. Methinks someone may have a liquidity problem.
