17 folks are buying that claim. It does look pretty spectacular. I always figure those belong to somebody’s old maid aunt that bought the thing new, and everybody always picked her up cause they were scared to death of her driving. She eventually wound up in the home, and nobody wanted the car.
Unusually optioned car, cruise, AC, antenna switch, rear defogger, and power locks but no power windows? Strange. They didn't color match the seat belts either (like a $10 option). I'm not saying it isn't all original, but the AC compressor (with no Harrison sticker), hoses, and fittings are extremely shiny for a 40+ year old car - no worm clamp fittings either but I'm not sure if Olds had moved away from them by 1976 yet. The VIR assembly is the same color as the newer replacement ones and not silver like some of the originals. The engine also looks extremely shiny and clean for a car that sat getting driven virtually not at all. For a car to be this nice after 40ish years it would have had to be in climate control storage inside somewhere - which is possible but if I was buying I'd want a bit more backstory or I'd just assume it was a decent survivor that has been gone through recently with 109k miles (and honestly it would make me more inclined to pay if so). It's a nice looking example for sure though.
Thought the same thing. Obviously you can detail the engine compartment, which they probably did. May have even replaced a thing or two. But as you state Jaunty, the dash cover is what caught my eye too. It even has some strange type dents in and odd shapes in it. Wish if it were not attached he would have take a pic or two of the dash pad itself.
