Hey guys, Wanted to let you know that I am the new owner of Klaus R.'s (rrbnut) terrific 1976 Caprice Estate. This lifelong southern California car is now in Tennessee and it is a true beauty. It is clean as new and not a hint of rust. I'm thrilled, and it will be well cared for and preserved. It's as close as you could ask to travel back in time to 1976 and choose your new Caprice wagon from your local Chevrolet dealer's showroom. It has essentially all GM factory options for the year with the only exceptions being the 454 V8 (not available in California in 1976) and Comfortron automatic climate control AC (which from all discussions I've read on the forum is best avoided any way). It's a great wagon! John in Nashville
This wagon's appearance on Jay Leno's Garage on CNBC was last Wednesday evening. I did not know until later when Klaus informed me. I've been looking online but the episode is not there yet. Keep looking!!!
Very interested in finding factory correct optional 1976 Chevrolet wire wheel covers as shown here. The ones I have found on eBay Motors are generally poor condition. If anyone runs across nice ones, please let me know! Thanks!
Here it is on last week's episode of Jay Leno's Garage on CNBC. It appears at the 32:00 minute mark. Looks great! http://www.cnbc.com/live-tv/jay-lenos-garage/full-episode/beasts-of-burden/565103171608
Congrats man. I must admit, the wagon looks great with the period correct boat. Rminds me of My Grandfather's pickup with the period correct camping trailer in tow.. Welcome aboard!
