Doesn't look to bad if the rust mentioned is confined to driver side quarter panel. Hopefully it doesn't turn into derby material, with the asking price of only $3,500. Somebody save this wagon!....Longroofs Rule!

Granted it's only a goner if you give up but that's not minor rust and it's not just the quarter panel. I wouldn't be surprised if a derbyist near me buys it.

It’s strange that the driver side is so much worse. Back in Chi-town the passenger side usually gave up the ghost first.

Where's the interior passenger door panel? If not included, that won't be real easy to find at this point.

This poor car. Seems destined for the derby.

Looks like a previous owner scraped it on something and neglected to fix it or cover it. Overall it doesn't look too awful for the price but it's definitely going to need some love to get it back to correct (missing door panel for one). The tailgate and the roof look in pretty good shape. I would hope it wouldn't wind up in a derby guy's hands but at the price with the quarter damage it just might.

What sucks about it - is that it's a good color combo. And once again, I still cannot for the life of me figure out why Imperials are banned from derbies but these GM Clams are not. I think these are every bit as strong as some of those Imp's.

Looks like a 75 based on the upper door panel. I have a few lower door panels if anyone buys this car and saves it.

I also heard that the Imperial front frame is the strongest of any production car built. Still hard to believe either classic makes it close to 50 years old and then gets demolished.

    Isn't that the pits?

Steering components tend to be weak unless "tweaked". I have seen imps take 20-30 derby's over a few years time depending on what they run against. The back ends just don't give for a VERY long time.

    Crying Shame....awesome color.

With some recent mechanicals done and owner saying it drives good....I'd say this is a good buy for derby folks. Some say solid rolling chassis clamshells bring a couple grand easy. Looks like lots of nice interior parts that could be sold to restore another car, plus all the usual parts stripped like regulators and gate motors.

Hope someone saves it but I'd say not likely. 76's are hard to come by, hopefully someone falls in love with it.
