One of my favorites from the era. Spectacular example, too.

    Lets follow this one.

This will be an excellent indication of what clamshells are worth in today's market. You're gonna be hard-pressed to find a better one that this.

I'm usually way off on clamshells, but I'll say high bid will be around $13k - and that may still be under the reserve.

Auction closes Thursday. 7/12 approx 2:30PM PST.

That is quite pretty. I am rather surprised they didn't show any pics of the tailgate in operation- I would think that would be a selling point for those unfamiliar with clamshells.

Wow I'm not sure if the clamshells ever look nicer than this one. Wish I had the $ and room for it!

Nice car!(y) My guess is....whatever is bid...will not hit reserve. I think the seller will likely want a fortune for this car.

Based on what I've seen nice, but not spectacular, mid-70s boats go for here, I am betting the bids will top $15,000, and may go as high as $20,000. Rare model, the right equipment, and all original adds up to a premium price.

No answer to two emails asking for pics of the undercarriage to verify it's rust-free.

I don't see any leads coming off the battery in the engine bay. Is it hooked up to anything?

Some batts come with both top and side terminals. It looks like, in this case, the batt cables are hooked up to the side terminals.

If you look closely, you can see that the positive is connected to the side terminal. When I go shopping for a battery, I always make sure to buy one with both connections. It is a terrific way, without hacking into the factory wiring, to get current for added equipment. When adding several items, I run a 4 gauge or one gauge (depending on what I'm adding) lead to an auxiliary fuse holder, and draw off that. I also use both negative connections. One directly to the engine, and the other directly to the body. That way, there are no issues with the ground strap connecting the engine and the body, although I do use that as well.

No way. It might get to around $10,000 but thats it. And I'm sure the reserve is higher than that.
