My father owned a mid 70s Matador sedan for a brief time. Do not remember it giving him any trouble but for some reason it had a very short stay in our family.

He would need to invest about $6,000 into rust repair and a new paint job before it would be worth $6,000 LESS than he's currently asking.

Agreed, but at least it has a V8 (small one but a V8) my older sister had a straight 6 powered 74 that got out accelerated by a diesel Chevette in the early 1980's. But it did have all 4 of her kids in it at the time!

If he is asking for 18 grand for that, I wonder what I can get for my 74 Ambassador, not that I am selling it
