This is that old conversation we have in here every time one of these pops up. What is this car in basically the same condition with 43,000 miles worth. I would hate to drive it it. That’s why my ‘70’s cars with 30,00-51,000 are great. I can drive them, and they’re still low mileage cars to me.
I understand your very valid points. I have always loved the '73-'77 Monte design, and for me, this one works as automotive sculpture if nothing else. Should this simply be a car museum piece - maybe? That's why art museums exist - cars can be art. Certainly has more style than the jelly beans currently on the highway.
I agree jwdtenn. It always amazed me how the supposed bottom of the food chain Chevy arguably had some of the best style of the personal coupes. I thought that ‘73-‘77 Monte Carlo had it all over it’s peers.
Agree, and IMO the Chevy version was very often the best styled of all the GM offerings back in the day. Chrysler Corp offerings, again IMO, tended to be all over the place - one year Plymouth, one year Dodge, etc. Over at Ford it was almost always Mercurys over the Ford version for me while Chevys would outshine B-O-P and Caddy. I still want a 63 Impala.
I have to agree - I'd take a Monte over a Regal or Cut Supreme any day. They're all nice rides, but I'd say for this year it'd be a tough decision between a Monte or GP.....
Very good looking car. in my opinion much beeter then the double stacked rectangle head lights that would soon follow.
