Very rare Chevrolet wagon, as noted. https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van/cto/d/vancouver-1975-chevrolet-biscayne-wagon/6810664765.html
Wasn't there a guy on here looking for one of these? Was it Stern70? I don't remember. This surely is a rare bird.
Definitely the bottom-of-the-barrel full-size Chevy wagon that year. Would be cool to own, though, because of its uniqueness. Too bad he doesn't provide much info on it nor a photo of the dash or engine. Would love to know what options it has. We can see that it has a manual tailgate, dog-dish hubcaps, non-remote mirror, and no roof rack. Be we do know it says "Biscayne" on the side.
I don't think so. I agree that the passenger-side mirror looks like it could be remote-control, but it's really too small and too far away in the photo to be sure. As far as the driver's side, I've enlarged that section of the photo that shows it, and, while it's a bit blurred, I think it's pretty clear that it's not a remote-control mirror. The pedestal the mirror attaches to doesn't look thick enough to house the mechanism, and the mirror itself is a bare mirror, not enclosed like a remote mirror usually is. Also, a remote-control mirror sits on top of the pedestal, not attached to it at the rear of the mirror. A remote-control mirror of that era should look something like this. This is the one that was on my '73 Custom Cruiser.
Most probably originally sold in Canada. From my brochure source, the U.S. '75 Chevy wagon brochure doesn't even mention a Biscayne wagon, a Bel Air wagon being the cheapest full-size. The CANADIAN '75 Chevy wagon brochure DOES show a Biscayne as the cheapest, with a Bel Air a notch above. Very interesting! I wonder why Chevy thought it worthwhile to offer a separate line of wagons just for the Canadian market. It's one-tenth the size of the U.S. market, and we're talking about a low-end line that probably would be bought by few people. As mentioned, this definitely has to be a rare wagon model.
First thing that I thought of when I saw the title of this thread was "they still offered a Biscayne in 75!?"
Well if that’s true, since it’s at the very bottom they should call it the Chevrolet La Touché, or maybe the La Feet. Sorry for the bad puns.
Yes I would definitely love to add this to my collection but the timing is off right now. It would look nice next to my 75 belair.
