We've seen this one before. That actually looks pretty good for the price.

Is anyone here going to see this Pontiac in-person?

So, what do you think? What options does it have? I note this:

    2 Seats
    No Roof-Rack
    Manual Windows
    No rear-window defogger?
    400 (402?) Motor
    Automatic Tailgate?
Passenger's Side Mirror (Though I'm not yet sure if that was an option or was on all models.)
    No Towing Package

Well, is this a good candidate for a restoration or what?

It's a clamshell, my vote YES. If anything just to keep it from a derby.

The car isn't too far away from me to go look at and come back in one day, either. This car looks to be in much better shape than some others I've seen on Craigslist! I don't mind Derby guys getting some of these cars if they're in such bad shape that it's worth sending them there, but this one looks like if I would buy it I could sell it after fixing parts that need attention and then making a profit, even? Well, is it good to do?

It sounds as if there's resistance in me, IMHO. What am I doing - worrying? What's there to NOT worry about?

I realize that for this very particular Wagon, this (while it's available to me) is my only chance to buy it and work on it then sell it. I shouldn't over-think this, nor should I over-think it! I also realize some members on this forum (72KingswoodEstate in particular) paid more for their cars in non running order than this one is priced, and this one just needs an exhaust system and I'm not sure what else to get it running. Well, plus rust repairs for car shows if I stick it in one.

... You know what? Buying it and working on it could be a very educational experience for me.

... I'm still pondering the thought. The thing is, What's in it for someone else instead of me? I'm not sure so much of what I may get out of it but what can I give if I buy this car, work on it and sell it? That sounds so much more constructive than "What can I get out of it?" to me.

I kind of know how you feel. The clamshell family of wagons, particularly the Olds, is what I'm holding out for. Always disappointed by the cost or distance they are from me. My holding out may mean I'll never have one. You could always buy it, if you don't like it, they always seem to sell.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

Good point. It does look like it'll be holding its value over the next year, doesn't it? Even if I don't work on it after purchasing I could just sell it again. I did send the seller a text message asking if it's still available.

Ah, Clocks and watches laughing at my indecision - aren't they?

Update: Someone else contacted the seller already and the seller said "If the buyer doesn't pick it up by next weekend, It'll be back up for sale." I asked him to contact me whether it sells or not.

Surprised it's still for sale at just $2500. That's very low for a running non-rusty GM clamshell.
