It has all the goodies. But wow $$$$ to bring it back.

Wow one of my favorite wagons of all time if not the favorite and in the right color combo. But wow yes the lower drivers rocker is rusted through. Wonder what the rest of it looks like underneath.

Restoration would be difficult, expensive and lengthy.

But just imagine what it would look like. And the rarity of it!

Also seeing original smog pump below the alternator and cruise control reservoir I believe. Engine looks like it's all there except for the air cleaner. Yes this would be quite the looker and rare with the swivel buckets and console. Wonder if it's an 8 passenger.

Yes I clearly remember going Saturday morning used car shopping with my Family back in 1979 when the Parents decided to replace the intermittently stalling 75 Pacer coupe. First car we saw was a cream 74 or 75 Malibu Estate wagon in perfect condition, no a/c I recall though. It was within their price range and I pleaded with them to buy it because it was gorgeous and we used to have a 68 Chevelle wagon. They decided to wait and go to a couple more dealers before finally rushing back to the first dealer. Sadly all we saw was the empty parking spot. They ended up buying a 76 Vista Cruiser with a/c but didn't have the looks of the 74 Malibu Estate wagon.

We cannot see a third seat, but the rear vent windows were included with the third seat. So, as high optioned as this Malibu Estate is, I am guessing it has the third seat.

What has happened to this particular really special wagon is a crying shame.

Good point about the vent windows making it a 3 seat version. Yes if someone was committed to restoring it, best to find a donor car in better condition.

But it can only be a 5 or 7 passenger wagon with the front Bucket Seats.

Another good point. Must be the 7 passenger with the vent windows as jwdtenn mentioned. This must have been custom ordered back in the day with those swivel buckets.

    Understatement of the century.

Probably the least of your concerns.

So will just about anything with enough time, money, and effort.

I watched Christine again last week so I’m seeing this wagon through rose colored glasses!
