Nice looking car. He does point at the flaws if you go to his dealership website and look at all the photos. It's still worth less than half what he's asking, but good luck to him. We'd all like to see clamshells command that kind of money, but it ain't happenin'. It doesn't even have a luggage rack!

Sharp car. Are those rear bumper guards original?

Very nice. Something funky going on with the front fenders... should have the "Grand Safari" emblem on the front front fenders on this car... it has "Catalina" badge on both sides. The Grand Safari was based on the Grand Ville and base Safari wagon based on the Catalina. Seems as if we have seen this car before and the same question was raised. Nicely optioned, the wood-grain and power windows are a plus for me... too bad no 3rd seat/luggage rack.

They do look odd, but I believe they are. I Googled '73 Grand Safari and looks like other '73's have the same type of bumper guard. I have never paid any attention before, which is odd. lol. The Grand Ville sedan had a different style of rear bumper guard, so you had me wondering there. lol.

I agree on everything said, I would think top money would be around 1/2 the asking price, unless he is adding $2000 for each Cigar Lighter the car has!!!!

To me it looks like it had a Catalina front clip mounted on it years ago, probably due to a accident. No real way to confirm it now if it happened 30+ years ago.

The "Catalina" is just badges, you couldn't get woodgrain on a Catalina wagon, so it probably just has Catalina badges on it as the front ends were all the same between the cars in that era.

It really isn't that loaded, only has power windows, power tailgate, and the cigar lighters in the seat. No power locks, cruise control, 3rd row seat, etc. He commits the ultimate station wagon sin: going on and on about the family truckster from Vacation. His price is WAY out in left field, even if the car really is nice. I have essentially the same car in 3-seater form and I loaded it up with options. If you look at the rest of his inventory, it isn't exactly cheap (the Wagoneer is quite out there too).

You could get a Catalina with wood grain. The fact that this one has Catalina emblems on the front fenders but Grand Safari on the front end make it likely it was hit on the front at some point, further devaluing it.

Yep, and you could get a Grand Safari without the wood-grain... something I didn't know for a few years. lol. Yeah, I too think the fenders have been replaced on this one from a Catalina wagon with wood-grain, because I do not see why anyone would just want to put Catalina emblems on it.

Why not? The seller of the '73 Olds is trying both with the same results.

Yeah, here is a brand new '71 Catalina Safari with wood-grain...

I think the Chevrolet wagon was the only one that you had to get wood-grain or not depending on trim level (only the Caprice wagon had wood-grain, AFAIK, it was not available on the Impala Kingswood wagon)... wood-grain was optional/available on all Pontiac, Buick and Olds wagons, or not... as we have seen some Grand Safari wagons without wood-grain.

Only Chevrolet and Pontiac offered different models of the big wagon for 1971-76.

For Oldsmobile and Buick, it was strictly one model, either with or without wood.
