I agree it is a very rare car, but the seller is asking the price of what I would expect a fully restored, or a survivor that needs nothing done to it price. Also I would expect a 429 under the hood for that price.
I think I'd rather have the Q-Cleveland than the 429 in 1973. I wonder how many others think the same....
Some people (like my dad) didn't like buckets and were not looking to the future. Stop to think, also, that if the majority of these were sold with buckets/consoles, that makes one with a bench more rare, and collectors/sellers home in on those to bump up the price.
That would be the buyer's problem. Let him have his rare bench seat, as long as everyone else gets the buckets. I guess, you could say that the bench seat on this one is a half bucket. If the console didn't have any sort of arm rest, this might have influenced the half bencher's choice. IMO, that's probably Ford's best looking rear bumper ever. It doesen't look like a 5 m.p.h. type. I can't remember if only the front ones had to be, in '73
