Points to those who can identify the 1970s TV reference. :thumbs2:

To be really nerdy. I think mid season there was a change to a ‘72 with red interior. I know the ‘71 had a red interior then in ‘73 on up they were red interiors. Love that era of Mark!

I believe Frank Cannon got a new Conny every season, but always that same color scheme. Cannon was a Quinn Martin production - big on Fords.

QM Productions almost always dealt with FoMoCo. Even as late as "The Streets of San Francisco," Karl Malden and Michael Douglas had the latest LTD.

Same with Barnaby Jones. He always sported a new LTD, brougham or Landau. Until 1979. They gave him a cheapo brown coupe, which he also drove through the 1980 season. Think he was the last of the big Quinn Martin shows. The earliest of them I remember was the Fugitive. Also a big Ford show. Loved David Jansen in the opening driving a ‘60 Mercury hardtop. But of course. Lol

And who could forget all the vehicles driven in the show, if it was a Ford, no changes to the car, but I remember one episode where someone drove a Chevy Malibu or Nova, and the entire C H E V R O L E T on the trunk lid was covered with aluminum tape....

In the pilot episode Cannon drove a ‘70’s Continental 4 door in black. I remember even as a kid being sick when he rear ended a pick up truck in it.

Yes, they stuck Barnaby with a base 1979 coupe for the 1979 and 1980 seasons. This is the only image I could find.

The couple of seasons before, he had fancy sunroof LTD Landaus.

Weird how cars are not a part of most tv shows anymore. In the 60's-80's so many were. Brady Bunch to Cannon, Mannix, Adam 12, Emergency, Barnaby Jones, Andy Griffith, Green Acres, Beverly Hillbillies, even Munsters and the Monkees. etc.

One theory - cars were much more distinctive then. You could them apart.

Not like today's jellybeans on wheels. :tsk:
