Very nice car, but $19,000? Wow. Try to find that color blue on any new car today. How quintessentially '70s.
Pretty clean example from what the pics show. Not overly detailed. I remember a few years ago when we all thought $12k for this would have been a bit much.......
Well then that dark jade green ‘77 Country Squire with like 9,000 miles sold on BAT for $45,000. I was totally blown away, and since we haven’t seen it pop up again would indicate probably a legit sale. Can’t explain car prices. Was at an auction in AZ yesterday a 1955 98 Holiday coupe, stunning, loaded, all original 29,000 mile car sold for $23,000. An absolute steel I thought. Go figure.
Agreed. I was a bit disappointed when I got to that picture. Car looks strong, but I too would have done something about the tailgate wood.
You can temporarily make it look better with some Pledge or something similar, but that's sun damage, and will end up cracking and delaminating. And you can't get the 'planked' Di-Noc woodgrain material anymore.
Yup. Everyone says "fix the wood grain" but any fix you do is not going to look original because the majority of the original Di-Noc material used on these cars from the '60s-'90s is just not made anymore. Whatever you do is going to be incorrect for those who know better - and then they'll ding you for not using the correct woodgrain material that you likely would never be able to find.
There are presently multiple rolls of the Exact Wood grain needed from Ford on Ebay presently if anyone is interested. One seller has 2 at $100 a piece.
While looking at the tailgate that car also looks like it has the uber rare rear window washer. Didn’t see that too often.
