Nice car though. I wonder how much he will end up selling it for.

I have to disagree on the price being high. That looks like a great car in great condition. Granted I am not looking for a yellow 73 Impala, but I bet if I were, I could not replace that one for less money.

Yup, priced way to high. May be in great shape, but no wood, very limited market for the colour......

Given what we are seeing some of these wagons sell for maybe he is not so out of line as I'd like to think he is. If it is as nice as it appears, I agree with '64CS, try to build one for that. I learned the hard way with my Chevelle that as nice as it is to build my own, I could have bought an extremely nice one and been driving it for the 5 years of build out time for the same money it ended up costing me. I think this wagon would be the same.

For someone without the time, place, expertise or patience this could be just the ticket to get in to a decent wagon.

There are those folks out in the world who have a slightly if not much greater toy-car fund than mine currently is so for them this would not be particularly out of line.

I hope when it does sell that the new owner finds the forums and lets us enjoy more pics of it and all the details.

Have you noticed how many really nice 70's and early 80's wagons are showing up for sale lately? What is driving that? Any thoughts?

I don't think it is just money. It is also time. These cars are now in around 40 years old. The original owners would now be in their 70s, 80s and 90s, and starting to retire from driving or dying off. It is that cycle in the ownership that is allowing so many to hit the market a wave.

Personally, if I had the time and space, I would buy the $1,000 Pontiac, and spend what it needs to bring it back. If this Chev sells for anything near asking, there is serious money to be made on the Pontiac as well as saving the old girl. The body condition doesn't look that far off, either. Mechanical fixes are easy!

Its nice... the 71-72 Impala hubcaps are nice, but dont look right on a 73. Also looks like the front springs need replaced, its sagging quite a bit.
