    Very nice Custom Cruiser.

    A few comments.

The back end is in pretty bad shape compared to the rest of the exterior. I wonder what happened? Note also that, for being as well-optioned as it is, it does not have a rear window defogger. It also looks like the tailgate does not come up all the way, something not uncommon with these as they age. Needs adjustment.

What is the deal with the house-number style stickers on the left end? Can't tell for sure what the upper one says (looks like "74"). The lower one says "455." What's the point here?

The woodgrain has bubbled off on each side. It's almost as though the car was stored in a garage where it didn't quite fit and the back end was left exposed over the years.

The rear window weatherstrip actually looks pretty good, considering, with cracking in just a couple of places. That weatherstrip is unobtainable new.

The radio is aftermarket, as he says, but what's nice is that it is an aftermarket radio from back in the day, not a modern one. So he didn't have to cut the dash to make it fit. Good for him!

A couple of oddities are noted under the hood. On the lower left, there is a non-factory bracket holding the upper radiator hose in place. There should be a small black plastic clip that screws into one of the holes right above my yellow oval.

I wonder if the reason for this home-made clip is because the upper radiator hose itself is not correct for the car. It is not the same shape as the hose shown in the bottom photo, and it looks as though it is wrinkled at the bend right before it attaches to the radiator (yellow arrow), like they had to force it to fit.

On the upper right is apparently a second windshield washer reservoir. The factory reservoir is still there at the far right in the photo. Why is this there if the original reservoir is still there and which looks to be in good shape? It still has its cap with the little hose attached.

Also note that the air cleaner itself is installed wrong. The snorkel should be pointing to the driver's side as shown in the photo below this one. Olds never had the snorkel oriented behind the A/C compressor.

A correctly-oriented air cleaner and correct upper radiator hose. Also, the correct clip holding the upper radiator hose in place is present.

^^^ That's what happens after 46 years of ownership by mostly non-expert automotive people.

my experience is that green cars didn't hold up well, especially mint colors. It's almost like the green is acidic, thin, and quite porous.

I remember this Olds CC well! It pulled up next to me at the local Costco years ago to gas up. Same license plate and "455" stickers up front. I'd been in the market for an Olds clamshell at the time and the driver, an older woman, declined an offer to sell. I later saw it sitting at a body shop close to my work. I understood that the family was selling it, but my attempts to contact them were unsuccessful. Just as well, my heart was set on a '71 CC I eventually acquired and restored. The condition of this Cruiser hasn't really changed since I saw it many years ago. Ironically, the setting for his pictures is the same as the one below featuring a similar '72 CC with, as I recall, 300k miles and painted over wood grain. Maybe the ebay seller owned that wagon, too.

The coincidence of the same type of car taken with the same back drop would be equivalent to seeing haley's comet, a volcano erupt, and also getting hit by lightning on the same day. Top it off with the same color car.... Wow.

The original motor and pump is probably frozen up and he doesen't want to risk bungling replacing just it
He'd be dangerous, if he happened to own a saw, by the looks of things

Could that be a fuel leak beneath the passenger side doors?

Correct. Super nice guy. I have talked with him about his Oldsmobile. He has a ton of documentation on the car. I’m fairly certain it could be bought for around $7,000 and that would make it a great deal
