I agree, maybe he was colorblind or someone simply ordered a car as a joke. I remember years ago I was at a Chevrolet dealer who had a brand new Chevrolet pick up truck on the lot that was red with a green interior. Someone had special ordered the truck and then never returned. Now the dealer was stuck with it. This was back in the early 80’s. It is also why you cannot order certain color combinations or options without others. And also, you need more than $100 deposit to order a car these days.

I do miss the days when you could check anything on the list and they would build the vehicle exactly that way

    .

On my dads farm we had picked up a cheap used 1970's GM truck that was factory pink and black with a grey interior .... it was used for hauling firewood around the farm .... never registered or street driven .... very basic 6 cyl and not even a radio.

Paint was very faded but body was straight and rust free .... a guy who collects and restores those wild GM truck schemes was thrilled to find it and to our surprise paid a handsome price for it.

Yes I remember these colors. Our 71 townsman was command blue with this color interior. My parents friends had a 71 Brookwood wagon in that green color…only difference was it had a green interior. So yes…colors are original but not usually paired up like this. It was probably a special order car or a bad mistake as there weren’t many restrictions on color combos back in those days.

Congrats! That really is a wacky colour combination, but at least you know you won't pull up next to another one at a stoplight! :D

    Cheers.
