A very rare 'bird indeed. Weathered condition aside, this really is quite a Thunderbird. 1971 was the last year for the 4-door Thunderbird and the factory power sunroof was an expensive and very scare option.

Brand new Hankook Optimos with 'original' 1" whitewalls? What he do, paint them on himself?

Definitely not my favorite years for the T-Bird. This body style and the 1980-1982 FOX cars are at the bottom of my list. At least the 1967-1969 cars incorporated an extra set of doors and still looked cool. But the Bunkie Knudsen front ends kills these cars.

I respectfully disagree about the design. The Bunkie "beak" front prow did not serve the 4-doors well, I will acknowledge, but for the 2-doors along with the new-for-1970 fastback roof line, I think it looks awesome! Motor Trend did a comparison article for 1970 of personal luxury coupes including Grand Prix and the brand new Monte Carlo and put the T-Bird on top. (y)

I owned a '69 4-door Thunderbird for a while. A great cruiser, but not so awesome in the 'cost-of-ownership' column when it's the middle of the first gas crisis and you're only making a few hundred a month......
