You would think a dealer might add at least one engine picture. Looks like a solid old Squire. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2955601547...uid=o9-poCnLTli&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
This sold in NC on BaT last summer for $15.5k. I remember the weird paint on the trim surrounding the DiNoc, the power windows with no A/C, and mismatched color on the front seat reupholstery and lack of whitewalls.
Yes I remember it too…someone had stripped the paint/coating off of the surround trim leaving bare aluminum exposed
I thought this was familiar. I was shocked at what it brought last time. Wonder if he’s looking for a big payday this go around.
The same reason, a lot of people do a quick flip, they did not buy it for the love of the hobby, they bought it to make money
Maybe he wants one with air. Agree it doesn’t have the wow factor of a flipper car, and needs way to much work to be in it too far north of $10. I would be shocked to see it go past its last BAT price, but I’m still in BAT shock over that $34,000 ‘75 Squire. Maybe he’s looking for the guy that lost the ‘75 by a $100 bucks.
Prior to the 1973 Ford play table, that was available for the 1969-‘72 model year. Ford called it the optional storage skid. Researchers at Dearborn found that 97.2% of the time the DFRS were occupied by children 9 and under. So the storage skid, albeit a very practical item was discontinued. In its stead the play table did indeed to prove a more practical, and profitable option for Ford.
Wow! Really? I thought someone made that from a pallet. I just thought it was someone’s clever idea to keep things from moving around. That was factory?
Oh heavens yes. According to my 1972 “Car buying made easier “ price guide it was a $13.11 option. It was $21.70 if you upgraded to the Squire Brougham cherrywood version. Story goes that after the wood body wagons quit being made, Ford hired a separate wood working department from the talent pool at Ionia body works. They made several wood projects for young Henry, including these lovely and varnished storage skids that were also available on the early 6 passenger Fords and covered the entire load floor. Those are extremely rare, and very sought after by the Ranch Wagon community. Hehe
Back up on EBay with a BIN price of $16,900. Bid up to $8,300 with 2 days left. Wonder if it will get an $8,000 run up in 2 days. Hmmmmmm. I did notice that he dropped a couple of the pictures, especially the back pallet storage piece, and the right to left front seat picture clearly showing no AC vents. He mentions it’s many features including lap belts, but no mention of AC or lack thereof. Hope somebody is careful in looking at this car. Still don’t think it’s gonna crack north of 10gs by a lot.
I don’t see it topping the BaT sale last year. Given the cosmetic issues and lack of A/C, I think the BaT buyer overpaid. Someone is going to have a hard time getting their money out of this one.
