Greetings! glad i found this forum. My wagon is a 70 torino, factory purple, 429 big block car. All original 52k miles. Well maybe not all original. I added 17 inch steel wheels and used the original hub caps. Runs and drives great!
Hello! That is a beautiful looking wagon! Are you the original owner, or did you just get lucky in finding it?
Welcome to the madness purplewoody! Do you know if your Torino was an Atlanta(Hapeville) built car? I remember seeing all the rail cars loading up in the yard there, many of the Torinos had the opt laser stripe package. rating for opening thread. Upgradable to "5" status with the inclusion of interior shots showing all aspects of the dash and some under hood shots.
aboard! Kool lookin' wagon. I like the stance and the look with the 17" steelies and dogdish caps. Thanks for posting the pics. It's good to see some new members share pics of their ride(s) Jack
I am not the original owner. My dad went to high school with the original owner our two families remained close in the 70's and. 80's So I rode in the car a lot as a kid. Long story short, I bought the car from the original owner in 2012.
That is so great! It may not have been in your family, but the next best thing. Again, welcome, and can"t wait to see more pics when you get a chance.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
PW ! thats a freeking rare option !!!!...Ive seen adds...but never actaully seen one for real ! great piece and your part of its history,,,man thats a great story
Welcome! ====================== VERY NICE!!!:2_thumbs_up_-_anima I didn't realize they put the hideaway headlights in wagons. I've only ever seen 2 Torino's with them in person and they were both 2 dr. Hardtops.......
Sadly, the Atlanta FoMoCo Assembly plant which started production in 1947 closed and that naughty Porsche bought part of it to use for their North American HQ. http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...-a-year-porsche-hq-gets-in-gear.html?page=all
