Love Mark IIIs but ‘69 mechanically is my least favorite year. Also like concealed wipers on ‘70-‘71. But that is one stunning car. Love the deluxe wheel covers.

What is it about 1969 mechanically that you don't like?

Lots of vacuum issues. Miles of vacuum lines, lol. Even the trunk release was on a vacuum line. Fixed on the ‘71. Also the ATC box and Servo were very complicated rebuilds. Even a smaller issue was the placement of a gas tank seam on the ‘69 and early ‘70’s which was moved due to rust issues. Also there were a lot of mid build changes including 4 various power window switch configurations and 3 taillight reworks. Also ‘69 had crank mounted power steering, which was costly to rebuild. Fixed by ‘70,-‘71. The other thing which is strictly design flow issue for me is the exposed wipers on the ‘69. Prefer the hidden wipers. Love them all, but own a ‘71. Seems like a lot of things were fixed on the fly by then.
