So my '69 4-door Landau would have been worth $20k if I had kept it? (Probably would have put about $30k of gas into it in the intervening years though......)

No one says you have to drive a car you own.

Exactly. And a big part of the value of this beautiful Bird is how little it has been driven in 50 years. :thumbs2:

At 1969 prices, that's plenty of gas

Hey Krash, at least the $30,000 in gas would mean you’re driving it and enjoying it. I always get a sick feeling for these poor folks on EBay that put a tinkle yellow ‘55 Restomod Chevy up starting at $25,000 that never get a bid, and they are proud to tell you over $100,000 invested. GULP.

Worked one summer, probably 69 or 70, at a trucking / office moving company. Owner had one of these T Birds, gold with black vinyl top, which he parked on a back corner of the building by the office door. Co-worker and I are walking out of the office after clocking out when driver of one of the company tractor trailers cuts the corner and the back wheels of the trailer run over the trunk of the T Bird. The back 2-3 feet of the car looked like it had gone thru the crusher. Owner, Mr Kane, walked out, looked at the wreck, said something like "What can I say" and just went back into his office. Have no idea if the driver was fired or not.

There would have been a Kane Mutiny on the spot had that been my T-Bird.

I have a friend who drove truck that said a truck crushing a car sounds like Quint in "Jaws" crushing the beer can in his hand.

This one seems to be in very nice condition, but 4 door birds just don't do it for me.

If at first you don’t succeed. I’m surprised it’s not a $1,000 higher.

Very beautiful car, cannot say it is not worth the price, but has to find the right buyer.

Went on-line to see if I could find some 'unusual' 4-door Thunderbirds. This was really the only one that stood out.....
