1968 Mercury Cougar GT-E XR-7 4-Speed for sale on BaT Auctions - ending October 8 (Lot #56,590) | Bring a Trailer what a rare and amazing car.
A remarkable example, and an EXTREMELY rare model, made even more rare with it's engine-trans-rear diff combination.
Wasn't that the whole point of the "GT-E" - the 7 litre 427? Prolly one of the brawniest Cougs made, if not THE brawniest. This would be a good example of a lottery dream garage purchase. Oh, I would drive it .....
Ah, I see - this has a 428. Some of them earlier MY(?) cars had 427's. I remember seeing this car on Hemmings' website maybe like 2 years ago in that it was going up for auction. I don't remember what it brought, but it was pretty healthy - like $60-80K range
