1966 Mercury Colony Park - Restoration

    That is a gorgeous car....one of my favorite body styles.:yup:

    I'm a GM guy, but that Mercury looks sweet. I like how the wood is narrow even at its widest point, and then transitions to that spear on the front fender. Very aggressive looking.

    Martin... yeah, it has! almost two years since the last post.
    But I have to say that yesterday I worked on the latches on my '58 Ranch Wagon and have to say that I think I missed a bullet "by that much" watching your pictures of having to cut open the '66 tailgate.
    *whew*

    You see, the latches on my tailgate have been hanging up a bit lately and while I fixed the key lock.. it was not always "unlocking". At times it would not 'click'... leaving the tailgate solidly closed with no options to get the sucker opened. (Got to put an override panel inside.)

    So..... I too would love to see updates on the Colony Park. And your last post should be a warning to all Wagon owners: "Check and lubricate those locks and latches to ensure smooth and continuous operation!"
