I used the eibach springs on my 72 chevelle. Made a huge difference in the handling and gave it a great stance.

ESPO Springs and Things will custom make springs for you if they don't have them listed. They made the front and back coil springs for my '67 Tempest. Just under 2" drop on the front and a 1" drop on the rear. And not much more than you would expect to pay for stock springs.

Can I ask, why not air ride? Is it a cost reason, or what is the deal?

No, cost is not the complete reason for not going air ride. My last project was full blown air ride. My wife has to drive this car and I know I can lower it and still make it driveable. She knows to watch out for curbs and such, but I just don't want her to have to deal with the buttons and such to adjust. Cost is a factor on the digital air ride stuff. I will post pics soon.

Yeah I was gonna say go digital, but they can get expensive in a hurry.

I have Beltech springs with drop shocks, seems to do well for me. Does have a firm ride, but I dont mind it. Bags are going on this winter anyway. I am guessing some of the rough ride comes from the tires I have as well.

Just ordered springs from Performance Online. They seemed to know their product line. Ordered 2"lower front and 3" lower rear. $99 each pair. Ordered new shocks fron my CarQuest dealer. All this maybe will work or will be a good start. Sent wheels to sandblaster. Won't be long now...

Awesome car !! I had a 66 Impala as a daily driver for 10 yrs or so. That's probably my favorite car of all time. 283 4 bbl w/3 spd on the column. Had Covette rallye wheels on it and 295/50s out back. Looked killer, ran great. Got rid of it 5 yrs ago after the frame rotted in half. Btw, the frames go bad right under the driver's door. Check it !! If you have any questions about these wagons don't hesitate to email me. I may have a new tail light or two kicking around. The tailgate lenses are impossible to find and they all seem to crack in half in my experience. That's the hardest part to find on those cars. Nearly impossible to find. That was before Ebay though. God luck with your awesome ride.

The brand of springs ended up being Moog springs. Installed them last week ..2" lower front and 3" lower rear. The front springs will need to be cut 1/2 to 1 round to lower more..The rears lowered the car too much (never thought I would say that). Removed the 3"rears and took the old progressive spring, cut 1round off and reinstalled. Good for now but will cut some more when I cut the front ones. Gonna take baby steps on the cutting!

I've had a couple 66 Impala wagons, great cars. One had the 396/T-400, but it rotted under the driver's door.
