It is probably mistitled, I bought a 69 GTO parts car once from out of state, the Texas title had it as a 68 GTO even though the VIN clearly had a 9 as the model year.
The car has the correct letter series for a late 66 or early 67 issued black & yellow CA. license plate. On CA. titles there is a box for "year first sold", It's probably marked 1966.
I really like this one! I only wish I lived somewhere that the winters wouldn't eat a car out from under you! I even like that the body is not perfect. No worries about driving this one!
