For all those who are interested my wagon it's going through its second refurbishing with me. I love this wagon since I first bought it in the early 1980's. I wish Dodge had done something with the front end like maybe a charger hideaway headlight but it has the looks and is a great driver. I had the centers on my 13" wheels installed on some 14" rims and stored my caps away for now. The second choice after painting the car the first time sage green/blue 15 years age is Pheonician yellow which was used on the 1965 Mustangs way back. I always felt the Dodge people had terrible colors. I just finished rebuilding the 3.7 engine and chose to use Hemi orange to give it some more apeal. I have a little problem getting the 1920 holley holding and idle but some friends of mine in Redlands will hopefully take care of the situation. THose interested in seeing some pictures can reach me at a.gamst@yahoo.com
Seems to me, that the European Mopars had models of that vintage with HideAway headlights, about the same size at the Darts. I've got one of Charles Bronson's early European flicks with a carchase in it, using what looks like a mini-charger. Have a look-see in here: http://www.lov2xlr8.no/index.html There's also a Russian site with lots of worldwide models here: Use your mouse to float over the top tabs and watch the statusbar for the page names: Concept cars: http://www.carstyling.ru/concept/ Styling classic models: http://www.carstyling.ru/ru/classic/ And this French site: http://www.tuningfever.fr/fr/pics/cat-20-dodge/index.php Anyway, welcome aboard!
Welcome. Wagons of Steel, South Division, eh? IIRC, we had an interesting thread some time back about a guy (maybe on a Mopar forum...?) who was in your area and had a Dart wagon that was stolen and wrecked. Could be you? The poor guy had spent quite a bit of effort making the wagon his 'own' Do a search for 'Dart wagon'. It was either in this section or in the lounge....
Stolen Waggon Ok all you So Calif members my 1966 Dodge dart Wagon was Stolen between 2 pm and 4pm today. They broke into the shop and found the keys to it and is long gone. I am just heart broken but it should stand out like a sore thumb. Not two many 66 Dart wagons out there running around with a 3.9 SFI injection Dark Brown on top and cream color on the bottom with a silver rocker panel. Yeah that's the one, Mike. It ended up recovered but crashed bad and totalled. Entire front end as i recall plus the left quarter.
In Spain the 66 Dart body lasted into the early 70's. In the late 60's to early 70's, the Spanish built Dart had rectangular headlights. Meanwhile the early to mid 70's Dodge Charger in Brazil was based on the 69 Dodge Dart but sort of had hidden headlights. The headlights wer behind the grill and showed thru the grille. The grille did not have doors that opened up when the headlights were on. Meanwhile, that stolen 66 Dart wagon in California was recovered but it had been wrecked severly on the left rear and the right front. Oh, and welcome aboard.
66 Dart Wagon No not me. I bought this vehicle from a gentleman in the the 80's. He bought it for his wife and his wife hated it. It saw it coming back from somewhere oneday and purchased it. I went through it once, painting it a sage blue/ green with fabric gray tweed. The running gear gone through and drove it once in Route 66 in San Bernardino. The slant six was gone through by a bolt on part rebuild shop and never ran with a good idle. Anyways I just painted it Pheonician yellow and rebuilt the slant six myself painting it hemi orange. I posted some pictures and not knowing the system yet it may not be available to others. If anyone knows of any who love dart wagons I'm interested to chat and exchange. Sorry this came so late. Art
Sorry to hear of the loss. The wagon was pretty clean. Mine when I purchased it was a ****ty aqua green and faded. The body was straight and had the stock 13" wheels with original caps on it. The only other 2 Dart I ever saw both with V8's one dark blue and one white.
A little late sorry I'm not sure but I posted some photos of about the 6 mos of work on the vehicle. I painted it Pheonician yellow and already rebuilt the slant six. I have some video to post but I don't know how but on youtube. Anyways thanks for the welcome. wagonsofsteelhigjhlandca
A little late sorry The pictures are posted on wagonsofsteelhighlandca. I have the 270 slant six version with the original 13" tires no signals on either front fender. The vehicle was gone through in the 80's paint, running gear and interior.
