Hi All, As I mention in my "welcome wagon" post. I am building this car for my wife as a baby present. I plan on picking her and my new creature up from the hospital for the first time in the wagon. Little about the big girl (no, not my wife...) - 1965 Mercury Colony Park - 390 FE - 2 Owner (from what I can tell) car - Tan with a wonderful pea green interior - Body is fairly straight, passenger front fender @ headlight is jacked up (looking for fender!!) and the drivers rear quarter @ the gas tank. - Minimal Rust, floors are perfect, a bit behind the taillights and gas filler cap but other than that good to go! Any and all help with finding parts will be GREATLY appreciated Parts needed (I am sure I will update this list!!): - Passenger front fender - Windshield (I found new but if someone has a local CA connection great!) - Dash without a crack - Hood hinges I am putting on a 65 Galaxie front and rear disc brake kit on, probably going to go with airbags and have yet to decide if I am going to go 428 or rebuild the 390... This will not be the wife everyday driver, just a fun vehicle to go to the park, grocery store and around town in. I have 4 month and 16 days according to the doctor to get this thing complete... it is going to be a hustle! Here are some shots of the motor being pulled.... I KNOW it is not the the best way to take a motor out but I left my lift plate at my other shop so... do what has to be done! Before the tear-down!
Looking good! Wish I had a shop like that. You could work on all kinds of different projects in there. Looking forward to your progress updates!
You notice we don't care about your wagon. We just love your work space! just a fun vehicle to go to the park, grocery store and around town in As for this, unless the park and the store are on top of a mountain, that shiny 390 is plenty to get you around town with that new baby. Now get out in the shop and get to work!
