What year and variety (Buick, Pontiac, Olds) of 9 passenger seat would fit into my 1964 Olds Dynamic 88 Fiesta? I understand I would need the rails etc but would a 61,62,63,64 Buick or Pontiac seat fit properly? Any idea what year Olds would fit a 64? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Dan

    Nice wagon!

I'm having a hard time coming up with some specifics.....

I believe the big Buick and Olds wagons were on a slightly longer wheelbase than the big Chevrolet and Pontiac wagons of the same period. That could mean that the third seat brackets, etc. are different (maybe, maybe not...)

I think you would be pretty safe using 'Buick' parts, but Chevy and Pontiac parts may fit.

Also, don't let anybody tell you that parts from a Olds Vista Cruiser or Buick Sportwagon will fit - they won't. In fact, the third seats from those models face forward, not rearward. Those wagons are based on the mid-sized platform (Olds F-85/Cutlass, Buick Special/Skylark), not the big cars.

    Seat Info

Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can get some dimensions off of a 9 passenger Olds like mine (if I can find one) and then be on the lookout for a Pontiac or Buick to measure. Everybody asks if mines a 9 passenger so....

Chances are the Buick is the only other car that will have a seat to fit. Ionia built the wagon bodies for the Olds and Buick, where the Chev and Pontiac were built by Fisher, in house. Chances are that the rear seat from a 61, 2, or 3 will fit. To find out for sure, check a Hollander's manual. That WL give you the correct information.

in my 59 the rear floor pan is totally different from a 6 to a 9 pass so might want to see if you can find a chassis manual which should have some pics
