A great year for our friend the Country Squire. Will be interesting to see what this one brings, looks pretty good in the pictures.

I don't know much about this era Ford's, but is it normal to have a split back seat but not have the third row? Was the third row in these rear facing or center facing?

1964 was the last year for the foward facing 3rd seat on the full size Ford & Mercury wagons. that's why the second seat is split. If the seat were rear facing there would be no reason to split the second seat.

According to the eBay listing, it’s not a 9-passenger, even though the rear seat is split. So I take this to mean that the third row seat is missing, since it does in fact appear to be a 9-passenger wagon.

If the third row seat was missing, would there be a gap in the rear cargo deck? Take a look at the last picture in the listing. Are the pillows hiding something? A gap in the cargo deck perhaps?

From that last picture with the pillows........we know the 2nd row seat is there from another picture. I think the third row seat is stowed under the smaller floor panel between the wheel wells. :coffee:

From 1952 thru 1959 full size ford 9 passenger wagons used 3rd seat cushions with a metal frame and springs. These cushions did not store under the floor. to use the wagon to carry a large load the 3rd seats had to be removed from the car, many were lost this way.

From 1960 thru 1964 full size ford 9 passenger wagons used seat cushions that slipped over the metal flooring when raised up. they were made of vinyl and foam and had no metal frame or springs. they were not stored below the floor. this is why so many 3rd seat cushions are missing now.

1965 was the first year that full size ford wagons stored the 3rd seat below the floor.

Nice Squire, definitely. Ahh, if I only had room and dollars. No mention of the stock wheels and covers; guess he doesn't have them.
