This is its supposed V.I.N.: 863S23015. From there, it's possible to make out if the 4-speed was factory-installed or not. If so, that shifter would have had to clear an original bench seat.
Nevertheless, the buckets and console are an improvement which should have been offered as an option, anyway

I didn't think it was original seating, but it's very well done.

Auction ends in 8 1/2 hours with no new bids, but that may change toward the end.

High bid currently at $24,701. Ends in 3 hours, 20 minutes, approx.

Personally, the manual 4-speed doesn't do anything for me. I'd want the factory Hydramatic, and it being a Bonneville, it would be the REGULAR Hydramatic, not the cheaper Roto-hydramatic the Catalinas got.

Was this the same tranny that they called a "Slim Jim"?

I'm not too familiar with BOP.

If you mean the Roto, yes
I hope, your bid will add it to your collection ;)

Auction ended with no new bids, reserve not met.

So, the manual 4 speed is not original to the car? If that's the case, I wouldn't want it.

Doghead, I didn't bid on this. No new cars for me. We have two parking spaces (both covered) and I wouldn't park anything on the streets around here. Way too much crime. Don't want to pay for storage either. Yup, the 77 Country Squire and the 69 Cougar are it, unless some clean, original, and rarely seen wagon comes up at a reasonable price. Even then, parting with the Squire would be painful.
