I always dreamed of combining one of those compacts using various parts from the Corvair, Tempest, Olds and Buick. That fourbanger would bre my choice, after the turbocharged aluminum Olds. That half Poncho V-8 could get tweaked, using Poncho V-8 tech (cam profile, for example). The Tempest line was what the Olds Toronado could have gotten right, have Olds had used the transaxle technology, instead of high center of gravity engine sitting on transaxle. Near 50:50 weight distribution would have caused the Toronado to have achieved a much improved Pike's Peak record, on top of that. Here's an old Tempest with both larger halfs: http://www.diecast.org/diecast98/html/asp/list_reviews/reviewpix.asp?id=H6150149 [/img]http://image.hotrod.com/f/31361083+w660+h495+cr1/hppp_1102_04+1963_pontiac_421_sd_lemans.jpg[/img]
