That sure is a beauty! Back in the day.....I worked at the local Gulf station after skool and on weekends........we had an older guy who drove a 57 Plymouth we called "Spot"(for obvious reasons). Spot and Jim would go around to the back of the station and direct cars into the car wash, which ran almost non stop on busy days like Sats.

Anyway, Jim's wife drove a 62 or 63 Delta 88 that had the 394 V8 in it. Their son was a mechanic and he had that engine running SO smooth I think you could have prolly stood a nickel up on edge on the air cleaner. Smooth and quiet. I was very impressed and particularly remember it now. (y)

Don't rush off now you found us hiding here at SWF! Welcome to the madness! :Welcome:

Beautiful wagon! What transmission is in it? Do you know the rear-end gear ratio? Has it ever been dyno'd?

    This one has me thinking....

You know,.for the effort this owner put into the build, the fact he painted the brake booster, m/cyl, air cleaner, radiator core support, valve covers and wiper motor ALL body color, shows either laziness or simple inattention to details that matter...a LOT! Beautiful car, but damn!

Actually I painted each item for a reason..... not laziness. When I decided to do a full color change I made the decision to go with a Resto-Mod style which usually gets the body color matched engine compartment. Now with that said I didn't want to stray away too much from the original character of the wagon. But again I wasn't representing it as a original back to factory restoration. Just as the outside body the engine compartment got the Tri-Stage PPG White Pearl, and the block, heads, generator, power steering, and such got a PPG Pewter Base Coat Clear Coat. No disrespect to anyone's own opinion but I haven't had any complaints about the attention to detail that I put into her :)

I understand it is NOT a true resto and was not intended to be. But, you've limited your potential buyers with what is there, if you built it this way intentionally with the intent to resell and not keep. Nice build, but it would be coming apart and painted in a stock scheme under the hood and with the cargo floor, for many folks. A monochrome scheme like that looks like what guys do that are simply "too busy" to remove underhood accessories before painting under the hood.

Sorry. That's a lot of work to end up with a scheme that ends up looking very much like a "quickie" and cheap job under the hood.

To each there own. Of course I wouldn't expect that "buyer" to be looking for Air Technologies Ride Tech suspension either .:rofl2:
