Ad was posted today. This wagon will be sold by tomorrow. This is a rare wagon at a very reasonable price for what it is. If I has the $$$$......

Yes, if the sheetmetal and chrome are as good as they appear, and the paint job is decent, I think this is a good value.

The weekend I purchased my Country Squire in San Diego, I was going to look at a '62 New Yorker wagon for sale in the same general area, that was listed in Hemmings. It was already sold before my flight landed. Instead, I went looking at others for sale.

Some sleazy Classic Car Dealer will snap this one up and do a Armor all and Krylon detail job and ask $20 grand for it.

    It's actually my car. lol

I'm glad to hear you guys think I'm asking a fair price. I thought I was too. I still have it. It's not sold yet. I know my interior needs some work. That's why I'm asking under $10k. The guy who did the paint did a really good job too. It was the second car he painted for me.

My friend just told me about the current December issue of Hemming's. It features a 62 6-passenger New Yorker wagon on the cover. I didn't read the write up on it yet, but it's good supposedly.

Hmmmm........... (Thinking of ways to exchange a '81 Pontiac with a '62 Chrysler............and still be able to sleep in my own bed)

It's a beautiful wagon, Rob. This is one that's on my short list of dream wagons. What's not to love - hardtop styling, push-button automatic transmission.

I'm very surprised it hasn't sold yet. For you guys who may be on the fence - don't let yourself fall over on the other side. This is one wagon that will do very well in value over time.

Thanks! You're making me second guess selling the wagon, and picking a different car to sell. lol

I haven't been on this site in a while. I don't have the black wagon anymore. I sold it after finding this one. I liked that it was the 9 pass. with the luggage rack & all the power options. I have a neighbor who almost bought the black one. He told me he later he was kicking himself for not doing it. He later tried to buy it from the guy I sold it to. He's hoping I could keep the gray one until his kids graduate, and he can afford it.

I wish I could keep the wagon, but the car I really want to sell instead isn't ready yet. It's a '58 Buick Roadmaster. My friend helped me rebuild the engine, but it's not back in the car. People don't usually like to buy a car that's partially disassembled...

My 62 New Yorker wagon appears again...

I see the guy who bought my wagon in October now has it for sale on Ebay. He bought the 58 Roadmaster I wanted to sell instead too. Actually, he said he wanted both cars or nothing. He wanted the wagon to drive his kids around in, while fixing up the Roadmaster. The Buick he put up for sale on Ebay a week after buying it from me.

Now I see he did some interior work on the wagon, and is trying to flip it. Just as with the Buick, I see he's not being very truthful about it. Oh well...

Anyway, I just thought I'd let you guys know. I'm trying to vent. lol

That sucks man if you sold it for 9K it's almost double now with 4 days to go. It only takes one guy from Europe to take a look at this...
Car is amazing looking, very straight and nice details and paint. Anyways I never trust sellers who write in capitals, it really hurts the eyes...

Maybe someone would rat him out. Quick story, I had a '66 Newport sedan I wanted $400 for, someone came here and raved about how bad he wanted it, had to borrow the money from his brother, yadda yadda..So, he came back later and asked what I had said I told him what I wanted for it. "$400" said I, "NO you said $300." he snapped. I just wanted it gone so I took three for it. When he came to pick it up, he couldn't get it started, so he tried to truck it away. By then, he had put a nice dent in the right front fender getting it on the trailer. The car also had rustout in a C pillar and around the taillights.

So, several weeks later I was driving through one of the industrial areas here, and see the old '66 sitting across the street from a body shop, decked out in brand new body work and gleaming white paint. Oh well.

Thanks guys. I just can't believe some of the things he puts in his ad. Not to mention no punctuation at all...

The Buick he said hasn't been on the road in a few years. It's because I forgot to take the antique plates off the car I bought for it when I first bought it. Wishful thinking I'd have it on the road soon. I still have the 1973 Arizona plates from that car. It hasn't been on the road in over 40 years. Like with the wagon he doesn't mention the cracked windshield. The windshield in the wagon is worse though. It needs to be replaced. The windows never worked in the Buick, but he said he tried them with a battery and they worked great. Maybe a miracle got them to work?

My friend and I think he has phantom bidders too. I sold the cars for a price I felt reasonable with their needs & according to the current price guide. His cars quickly hit double my price on ebay. The Buick was listed 3 times on Ebay, and said it was sold the second time. If those are real bidders, I feel sorry they are going to be screwed.

I know this guy fixed the interior a bit. That was it's weak point. The guy who painted it for me did a great job. It's true it didn't have any rust. But I didn't ask him to paint around door frames or under the hood. He gave the door frames a quick spray as a bonus to me. On ebay it says all the options work. He doesn't mention the aftermarket turn signal bar is on the car, because the factory switch is stuck. I never had a chance to fix the parking brake, so so have to put a brick behind a wheel to park it. The heating and AC system never worked. One of the large side windows is popping out of the car, because the weatherstripping is so dry. I pointed all these things out to him when I was selling the car. Now everything "works perfect", and it's the "best new yorker wagon in the world".

He also said if he ever got bored with it, I'd be the first person he'd contact in case I wanted to buy it back. I haven't gotten the call yet, but I don't want it now. I could go on and on. Ok, I'll shut up now. lol
