Modified 1961 Chevrolet Impala Two-Door "Double Bubble" Station Wagon for sale on BaT Auctions - ending September 27 (Lot #164,553) | Bring a Trailer

well.... this one looks like it's going go for a very high price. They spent on a ton on the restoration/customization. Saying all that IMO, I don't like it and if I saw it at a car show would just look quick as I went past. If this is someone on the groups wagon, good luck with the sale, like I said just my opinion and I'm not that market $ anyway. Seems like I've seen this in a magazine.

Full custom. Seen lots of pics of this one. Not one of my favorites, but seeing that current bidding is above $130,000, there are people who like it. You DO have to appreciate the workmanship.

That headlight set-up and grille resemble more Ford than Chevrolet.
Edelbrock even bothered casting heads for those

If you squint it looks like a Lancer. Yeah not fond of it at all. But I guess that’s what makes the world go round.

In this case, I think the designer - builder was intent on retaining (somehow) the 'bubble-top' styling of the '61 Chevy hardtop (pictured), but with the wagon body and 'bubble hatch' it just doesn't work....IMO.

    Yes you do.

I agree. The rear looks like a 1960 FORD wagon to my eye as well.
