hello, I am doing a complete restoration on a 60 pioneer wagon, and having a heck of a time finding rubber molding for the 2 side rear windows and any other parts sources would be great, parts are hard to find on this one, not too many cars around anymore. thank you... jack
Jack, Sounds like a great car. Looks like we are in the same boat as with many other Mopar fans. Yours will be more difficult to find than mine. That is such a low production vehicle to start with and counting the normal rate of vehicles lost over time, even more so today. I don't anticipate seeing any new reproduction rubber for the mopar wagons anytime soon. for years I have had to use old nos rubber that I have squirreled away when found from the seventies to current. Hemmings was always a good source prior to the mid eighties, but nowadays the internet seems to be the way to find the hard to find nos pieces. Luckily, even thought the nos rubber is old, you would be surprised of how pliable it still is today. I have used quite a few nos pieces on many of the restos for years and they hold up well and still are not cracked today. So as long as the rubber is somewhat still pliable when you find it, the rubber will stretch just enough to get it around the glass with no crack issues. Still good to go. A lot of people scoff at using 50 year old rubber. But that okay as most pieces you find usually were stored inside for years in their boxes. The way I look at it, that's okay if others are afraid to buy it. It will give me better stock for my future projects. My 65-66 wagons are easier to find pieces for periodically than your 60 dart, and even they are getting more difficult with time. I wish I could help. Maybe Metro rubber, but they are very limited. Good luck in your search..... sounds like a great wagon.
Thank you very much. The rubber is cracked and falling apart. It was leaking so bad that I had to put floor pans in . Have a great day. And thanks again for the insight
Howdy Jack! These "Forward Look" wagons have parts that are in the same category as hen's teeth and Chuck Norris' tears. (RARE!!) You might try Gary Goers Parts or Andy Bernbaum Parts, that would be a start. If they are not reproduced, you will have to find good used. I would then try Big M Automotive, in Williams, CA. Good to have you here, and please post some photos of the Dodge when you get the opportunity. Pete
Jack. Savoyplaza has you headed in the right direction with Gary Gowers and Andy Burnbaum. It might take a while for Gary to get back with you 'cuz he's got some health issues rite now. His Fax#406-752-6249 is the best way to get a responce from him. Don't write off JCWhitney either. Get one of their cataloges that shows more then RV and SUV add ons and they have a lot of rubber partz Wagons ho, Jer
