A friend told me of this site (which i never knew existed) what a great place to exchange and gather information. I own a thunderbird and ford facility which was started 29 years ago in the houston, texas area. Although we deal primarly with the ford line, i have always wanted a 50's rambler wagon since i let a 1955 cross country excape as being my first car. Finally found a 59'rambler american that had been sitting out for approx 25 years and was in "better than average" condition. Had visions of placing a chevy s-10 drive train and suspension under it.....when....checked the motor and it was not frozen!!! With a very little bit of work, it started and ran very well. Have decided not do conversion and project is coming along very well. Should be ready for the road in couple of months. Look forward to hearing from anyone with similar wagon.......thanks, lance
Lance⦠hope you enjoy it as much as i do here in the long roof madness >>still looking for a tailgate window crank for my '64 Impala<<
to the wagon train, Lance. I HAD one of those! They are so cool! Don't wait until it's done to post pix! We like to see wagons from beginning to end of the work in progress. So....please post up some pix so I can have some memories!
Welcome to the madness ! YouLL FIT IN HERE JUST FINE , Can't wait to see pics! and with the price of gas at $4 and going up we might all be looking for a v6 power house
Lance. That's great you found an old wagon like you used to own. A great choice to be different. That wagon will look nice parked in your showroom after it is finished. Most people today will think it's a new Ford!
Welcome to the madness! I'd like to see a couple dozen of that classic when you get time. 50's Rambler wagons are great!
