Gorgeous restored low optioned model. What a looker! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1959...Cars_Trucks&hash=item3f246a110c#ht_831wt_1164
Great looking car. Those Pontiacs clean up nicely. It says high end frame up resto, but that engine compartment doesn't seem to be fresh. Looks like there are some leaks in the valley pan area, but it's hard to tell. I wish they had more pics of that area.
I don't particularly like the styling of the '60 Pontiac, when they dropped the split grill for a year, but I love the 59's. Beautiful wagon.
I love the American 59s as much as I dislike the Canadian 59s! The Canadian ones had a shorter front end and much narrower track, so the proportions were off. This one is simply stunning!
I'm very partial to the '59 Pontiacs, every model, preferably the Bonneville. I knew the Canadian version had the narrower track, but did not know they had a shorter front end. What a rip off. I would still take either nationality to get one.
smart @ss stuff The front of the 60 Edsel looked like this... Other than that,,this is a great looking car. The engine bay, as has been pointed out, needs closer, fuller inspection, but is somewhat negligible (I didn't I'd spelled that right) . If'n I had the money, I'd bid this up some. Not sure I'd go past $20,000, though. Yes, it's a nice old car, but if the engine is "not so well off" , what else, that we can't see, did "they" not fix up?
A great looking wagon, even if I don't like the 59's. Lokks like it's in a very good condition. Wonder what the price will be in the end? It's 15.000 USD right now and that's cheap in a Swedish point of view.
Beautiful car, dam that would be nice! Anybody else notice they showed off the rite turn signal a lot but front and rear left turn cheeped out. I had to look a couple times at the rear, the signal works but very dim on the drivers side, front was brighter but still dim compared to passenger side and slower when flashing. Problem with a ground IMO....My old GMC truck has same ishues when I got it, was all ground wire connection problems.
The 1959 Bonneville had buckets available, as did the '59 Electra 225, and the '59 Eldorado, on the two door models. It was a shame they never fit them into the Ninety Eights.
Beautiful style and color. A little disappointing its not higher optioned. A/C, padded dash and power windows would have been icing on the cake. I didn't see it mentioned or watch the video... did it mention if its a 2-seat or 3-seat?
In that case, if those buckets are of the same construction between Bonnies and Electras, there would be nothing wrong with installing them into Ninety Eights using matching Ninety Eight upholstery
