As unusual as it would be to see that driving down the road here in the US, i cant imagine how rare it is to see in Europe. That's a nice looking wagon. Conversion rate for price?
My German is more rusty than a pile of patina flakes, but it appears to have power steering and power windows, it's had a resto 12 years ago, and is not driven on a regular basis, judging by the lack of licensing. If Poison Ivy were still making the rounds, we'd have a better idea of what's what. And, BTW, the price quoted does not appear to be Euros. I could be wrong, but it appears to be bid in Swiss Francs.
Yes. Style tone paint was available. Usually top and side trim could share a separate color than the body’s
Sorry. Yes. Tri-tone, and flo tone schemes were also available. This color scheme on this wagon is a possible combination. It seems that most of the tri, and flo combinations include tuxedo black and marble white. So this combination is conceivable.
49,900 Swiss Francs = $55,498. And no, it doesn't have power windows. Those rectangular chrome blocks at the top of each door are sliding door lock levers.
Really love ‘57-‘60 wagons. It’s interesting that Mercury spent the doe to reduce the width of the C pillar on the ‘59 and ‘60. I know he supported the 4 seat bird, but I wish McNamara had left the divisions alone.
That's a good example of letting a bean counter rule the roost. Look at where we are now with it. Absolutely loaded down with options that are built cheaply and break/wear out easily.
What a beautiful car. I love the tri-tone paint job as well. And of course, it's hard to beat a hardtop wagon.
Interesting........... Funny how our brain interprets things we see. I had always assumed Mercury redesigned the greenhouse for 1960. I never noticed until now that it's the '59 and the '60 that have the same green house.
