Because of the rarity of those, chances are you're not going to see this on the street. Probably locked up in a garage right now. My guess s somebody's got one that's junk (but with a 'clean' VIN) and the stolen one's gonna be the parts.

Just like you see in the movies, crime rings have list of cars wanted by hook or crook and when they find them, they go away forever.

If its just some kids, you still find it stripped but get the shell back in a week.

A car like that is already on its way to its new owner.

They don't even check 1% of freight in and out of the country.
    100s of cars leave daily.

yep, what KK and 350 said - gone and tough to get it back and who knows what you are getting back:confused:

I know a fellow who had a high dollar Porsche swiped out of his home attached garage. The house/garage alarm was set, the car alarm was set, and it was there late in the evening and gone when they got up. Not a sign that anything had been tampered with.

Make sure you have your car appraised, properly insured, and if you can, have some kind of disabling device in place. Some folks put a tracking device on their cars which is a nice thing to have, but there is a cost.

Oh well, sad to see this stuff happening but it is going on all the time.

When Earl was forecasted to blow through earlier this summer I was curious about insurance on Fannie while she's parked in the driveway. So I called our agent, while she's parked she would be covered by the house insurance but once we start taking her apart she would not be cover. Makes sense I guess but I was a little surprised and wondered (Heaven forbid) should there be a fire and she was toasted I guess there would be no coverage and she would be lost.

I had my last Fox wagon stolen and smashed so I can kinda relate but I just can't imagine how the owner of that T-Bird feels.....I Hate Thieves

fannie, talk to your insurance again, or your auto insurance. On my pond I take out "auto storage insurance", The car must be registered in your/owners name though and of course is'nt insured to drive. It costs me apx $40 (1 year) for the Crewzer I just barned. Good cheap ivestment IMO:yup:

My house and cars are ins. at the same place, Fannie doesn't have coverage yet, but she has been registered. I may give this agent in NB a call he deals with ins. on classic cars and may have different types of polices for cars that are being store or restored. $40.00 a year sounds great does that cover everything, fire, flood, mice:)

Even puppy doo:yup:...You just can't drive it, and it does'nt have to run, can be in a zillion pieces, it just needs to be a owner registered car.
