Hi I own this car and it is impossible to find any information on it … the only thing I have been able to find out is that it is extremely rare and probably the only one around… anyone know anything about a 1956 2door meteor ranch wagon model 59a … thanks
That's a neat looking car. As far as information goes, I'll be of no help. But I'm sure someone else on here will be able to assist you.
Well, I've got good news...........and bad news. The GOOD NEWS is that I've found an on-line version of the 1956 Canadian Meteor brochure http://www.oldcarbrochures.org/Canada/Ford-Canada/Meteor/1956-Meteor-Brochure-Cdn-Fr/index.html The BAD news is that it's in French. The '56 Meteor was basically identical to the 1956 Ford, with the exception of some trim differences.
There is an FB page that is for '55-'56 Ford owners, but I think they talk with Mercury and Meteor owners, as well as owners from around the world. It's called "1955-1956 Ford Fairlanes only."
Calling Fords Meteors (traditionally a Mercury model) must have been confusing for those unfamiliar with the Canadian automobile market. They're nothing other than ordinary Fords, as mentioned previously, with different trim. Mercurys were called Monarchs. Both Meteors and Monarchs were gorgeous cars. I couldn't, however, find any Monarch wagons in that model year
Found 1955 and 1957 Canadian Monarch brochures here (in ENGLISH!): http://www.oldcarbrochures.org/Canada/Ford-Canada/Monarch/index.html Sadly, no '56 brochure. Neither the '55 or '57 brochures show any station wagons, so I guess they were not part of the lineup.......
