1948 Crosley CC Four Station Wagon for sale on BaT Auctions - ending February 28 (Lot #66,871) | Bring a Trailer
. If it is possible for a car to be both cute and ugly at the same time , this one does it .... haaa. On the other hand , the 4 cyl inline engine with overhead valves was years ahead of most other cars . .
Did you mean Overhead Cam Engine? Overhead valve engines had been in production in the states for at least 10 years. Buick Straight 8 & Chevy Stovebolt straight 6's come to mind, both introduced in the late 1920's. But those little Crosley engines were unique in many ways. The early ones not having cast blocks, and the use of aluminum and SOHC heads to name a couple of features. They are cute little cars, as long as you don't need to get anywhere quickly. I don't think I would want to push one beyond 50mph or so. This is a nice looking example. It will be interesting to see what it will sell for on BAT, not really the right place to sell something like that IMO, but I have been wrong alot lately.
That is probably well bought, I bet you would have 2X that much into restoring one. But if I ever get stupid enough (always possible) it would have to be 1950's version with a propeller something like this one
Believe it or not, there is another one out there. A 1950 https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/ctd/d/palm-desert-1950-crossley-wagon-wagon/7447705153.html
