My buddy, who is addicted to Life after People on TV, sent me this:

Have you heard of this place? It was one of the top 5 Tourist beach areas from 1970-1974. It attracted Hollywood stars and the wealthy.
In the summer of 1974, Turkey invaded this Greek island and took the Varosha area. They walled it in and have not let anyone in since. If you can get in, it is a time capsule of 1974. Resort Hotels are full of furniture, closets full of clothes. This also includes a Toyota Dealer with brand new Toyotas just sitting on flats. Google for more pictures. It's weird!!!

Very weird. What a waste of a city.

So many people without homes in the world and this place sits deteriorating. Sad.

Oh wait, it's like many American cities !

Amazing. I hope that some day, some of the treasure in that time capsule can be saved and displayed for all to see.

Wow, what an amazing story. How sad that this crap has to happen in a world we like to think is so enlightened.
