What a great car! Now having said that......the rust issues, seller has some good detailed pictures of the trouble areas, are they fixable? Were all these GT options available factory installed from Ford? :hmmm:

Looks like great 100 footer, you can clearly tell alot of rattle can was used to help with the visual......

IMO this is clearly a car that you would have to view personaly before bidding, this is not a $6950 wagon

White car, this kind of bubble, and not a trace of coca cola stains....rattle, rattle

This, to me is a $1,500 car. There is a lot of rust, and it is a uni-body to boot. This one is really on the cusp of savable. Fix it now, properly, and it is a great car. Leave it another year or two and the rust will dictate a very expensive restoration. Back in 70/71 you could get all sorts of odd things from the factory, sometimes through special orders, sometimes through assembly line mistakes. I don't know if the GT equipment was available on the wagon, but if it works, that is a terrific way to get great gas mileage gains out of this old girl!

GT equipment was not available on the wagon (my car's original owner tried), and this is not a $7K car, in my opinion. Obvious covering of serious rust scares me. It is a nice looking 100 footer, however. For $1,500, I'd be a player.

    1971 Torino gt

    Good day
This is my first post in reply to the 1971 Torino options yes you could add
GT option early in 1971 you could just about pick anything in the Torino group
if you could afford it . So this is a special car not many around its one of those
cars you need to look deep in the ford records. Bet you it's there so good luck
my father ordered a wagon in 71 he was able to add what ever he liked.

This one's been on Ebay quite a while (since January). I don't think the seller is trying to hide the rust, or he wouldn't put close-up pics of the obvious rot. I do think he's dreaming, in regards to the price. Obviously, buyers are staying away from it, given it's been on Ebay for so long. Such a shame, that woodgrain looks amazing. As far as the options, a Marti report (or a build sheet) can tell for sure.

I doubt that the wagon came originally with the 'GT' hood and emblems. I've never seen anything in writing indicating you could 'build' a wagon with that equipment back then......although anything's possible. Very easy to switch out the hood and slap some emblems on......

Sold for $3750. Way too much rust for me. I bought my rust-free '69 for $4400. I would also be very surprised if you could order the GT package on a wagon. I checked my Ford Station Wagons 1929-1991 book (by Paul G. McLaughlin) and there is no reference to a GT wagon.
