Walked the whole 1.5 miles to down town Langford where they close off the main strip for the once a year show and shine. Was apx 250 cars in total, some that have been around for years and a lot of new ones. I didn't take pics of everyone some were just impossible to take pics of because of the croud but here are some of my favorites. Only real complaint was although there are a lot of restaurants to eat at only 1 burger/hot dog stand that only had hot canned soda, no freeken ice in the coolers, WTF!?..a grockery store is 50 feet away that sells ice! It also made me wonder, if there is no ice for the pop, how is the meat being stored before cooking?? So we didn't snack. More on the way.............. Attached Thumbnails
More of the same woody.............. has the third seat but I don't know if that was standard back then or a option? Attached Thumbnails More on the way.............. ..
This Comet was pretty much interior stripped and roll caged out, Not the way I would go but then it's not my car........... Notice the Fox body wagon rear bumper. This Burb was pretty nice........ More on the way.............. ..
saw this one leaving early, very thoughtey sound. Owner has all the chrome but decided to wait until a real paint job and $ for the paint job before installing. 3 little kids loaded up with balloons left with there dad very happy Not exactly my thing but I kinda dig what the owner did with the hood. More on the way.............. ..
This wagon showed up last year missing the rear bumper, real nice older couple but I didn't see them this year and it looks like they found the bumper. Well that's it for the wagons this year at the show, but...... Stay Tuned More on the way..............
Next 2 posts are of my favorite car at the show not just because of the history but the OMG what a class act ride The owners even had a binder full of it's documented history. So in 1926 dollars, $75 for a tire cover witch would be leather....... that would cost almost what the car originally sold for in 2014 dollar$! The war referred to was WWII witch Canada joined in 1940........... Wheel hub..... More of this caddy to follow........... ..
More of the 26 Caddy................ Cat, and I'm say this with full compliment would have to be my driver as any other member can clang ther hole all they want but IMO 'Cat" would be the only one who could just jump in this and drive away happy motering. This is real old school, throttle, engine timing, all on the steering column Flat glass on the outside yet inside the privacy glass has a radius on the ends. Owner showed me hot the center crack handle working that made the privacy glass roll up and down completely trouble free.......... And then you look at a 2014 Cadillac and it's hard not to.....
More pics latter tonight or tomorrow, takes along time to load to the forum and I've got things to kill and apples to pic
You drink any of that beer out the Caddy? I thought you lived on the Canadian version of "Gilligan's Isle"? Looks like y'all have more wagons and old cars than we have in our whole state! Nice pictures, thanks for sharing and looking forward to more.....now go kill whatever it is you Canadian rednecks kill!
Nice cars and great pictures. I appreciate the chance to drive that old Caddy. But me and 1tire are gonna sit in the back seat. We don't care who drives and how long it takes to get there. We'll let you know when to stop at the liquer store for a refill.
Thanks for posting the pics Tedy, I really enjoyed them. If you have a chance between killing apples perhaps you could repost the first few pics.
OK, I'm still killing things and as for the apples...... I told Deb they were not ready as Rascal isn't eating any that have fallen on the ground but she wouldn't believe me! I picked one from the tree and........... OMG sour...... but here is a fast few pics while I'm on brake from killing things Everybody likes Fire Trucks, Rite?? This one was still in use at the old fire hall when we moved here, same year it went out of service......a go any where F-Truck, now all restored............ HEY LOOK, you can see me in my grumpy old man hat with my blue camera in the bumper And now I must return to my killing spree.....relax, I have a mega huge carpenter ant colony I'm destroying:Blasting_anim:
Here is another for Cat yet I could totally see myself driving to the hardware store in it, has job box and all it needs is a ladder rack and I'd be set........... Not exactly original but you do have to like the external timing chain. I have seen this truck being driven by a guy who is older than 'Cat' blasting down the road at what must be a whopping 20MPH full out, a few times, it's insured and legal. I never got to meet the owner today but a real friendly smile and wave guy when you see him driving.
