I had one of these.. it was definately for small kids only, but cool to have in a pinch. I still have the "booster" pad for the bottom. That was a good car, by the way. I sold it in good condition with 212,000 miles on it.
There is one of those wagons that has been abandoned in the parking lot at work. Its been setting there for two months. Beaten and battered. Windshield busted, headliner hanging down on the seats in the back, dented body panels, missing cargo area interior panels, busted grille, coat hangers holding the hood shut... a sad sight.
Yep, I installed MANY of the 3rd seat option at the Volvo dealer. From the 145 series all the way up to the v70 series, Volvo always had an option for the third seat in its bigger wagons. In all honesty, as safe as Volvos are (I walked away from two rear end collisions being in a Volvo ) I would NOT recommend the third seat. Putting them together, they just seemed cheep and flimsy. Just my two cents. Talking about the Swedish bricks, anyone see a 140 or 240 series with a 350 Chevrolet engine in it? I have always wanted to see one up close.
there is a guy with a mid 90's volvo sedan that runs the flashlight drags here. he has a built 302ci (5.0ltr for all our canadian and european friends) in it. it is pretty fast. he calls it the volvo 940 SS
