Most likely will end up in a derby!

Too nice for a derby! I hope it ends up in a good home. Other than the rear bumper, it doesn't look too bad. Just needs some TLC.

Unlike the front bumper, which is the same for all full-size '74 Oldsmobiles, the rear bumper is specific to the station wagon. However, the '74 through '76 Custom Cruiser rear bumpers look very similar to me, and I'm wondering/thinking that they're interchangeable, so perhaps that opens up the range of possible donor cars.

Way too nice and rare for a derby.

But isn't there a typical top dollar they'd pay? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a derby car used only once? I can't see these guys paying thousands of dollars for a car just to smash it up. I have to believe they're looking for sub-$1,000 cars that are half wrecked already.

We don't know what the reserve is on this auction, but I'd assume it's more than $1,000. His description of the condition of the car's components isn't very helpful. The engine is "fair" with no further description. He does say the car has been started twice a year "to keep the engine in shape." Obviously it runs, so what's "fair" about it?

I sold a shell with no motor, tranny and wheels and tires for $3,500. They pay big $ for solid cars
