Hello all! I'll be trolling the forums before I ask stupid questions. Let me tell you about my wagon. I just bought a 1979 Ford Fairmont, primer black, missing two windows (rear and passenger side rear). The previous owners pulled the front seats and put in automatic leather seats (yuck), jacked up the back a bit and routed the exhaust out just in front of the rear driver-side tire. My plans are getting it very road worthy then start to mod it out. I might have a few spare interior parts when I get to that stage, so you all know. Presently, I had it towed up to a garage buddies of mine. He was going to drain the brake fluid (or some such thing.) And alas we are looking for a proportioning valve, buddy thinks we need one of the originals, I could careless, just as long as its safe and works. I think my bud may not want to play around with an adjustable one. I'm just starting to dig in. Love the forum so far, the gallery is a great resource! Looking forward to contributing and asking reasonably smart questions. Deep Bow G
Yeah, what he said! You just know that Andy and I and about 5 or 10 other Fox wagon owners will chime in. We were outnumbered by the GM Clamshell guys, until now...
See Rob, we happen to own the most underappreciated wagons, except by those who have or do. It's almost like Ford made the North American Volvo. We can still use powertrains up to 1996. So we're kinda partial, kinda like classic Ford wagon owners of pre-70 vintage.
dude i love the fairmonts and zephers, my wife, not so much...wait i love my wife she doesnt love the fairmont. beat ya to it.
I'm really cracking the cosmic egg, TBIRD. I've got the Mustang Dash in and rewired, LTD II wire discs and interior, and now, I came up with a new twist. A 1986 Mustang GT set of rear fold-down 50/50 seats. I even got the Mustang hatch cargo cover rollup, but I don't know if I'll do that or not. I'll start a thread on it with pics.
