I remember this one :1st: and wonder why it's not selling. Hopefully the seller is patient and won't drop the price any further for fear of attracting derby-ers.

My guess is that he'll sell it to the first person who shows up whose money is green. As noble as it might be of him to try to keep it out of the hands of derby-ers, he may very well need the money and thus need to see the car gone, period. We can't all save the world.

I wouldn't be too sad. I have to believe that the derby types aren't interested in cars that are more than, say, $2,000. After all, they're going to just wreck it, and they have to have the chance of winning enough money to cover their cost and then some. My guess is that cars that are much more than $1000 are too expensive for them.

This one, at $4700, is still way too high to interest them, and I'm guessing that, even if the seller has to lower the price a bit more to get it sold, he won't have to lower it anywhere near the level that it would have to be at to attract derby-ers.

    Nice wagon

If that wagon is as good as it looks I'd love to own it. Great enterior too.
Sadly I don't need anything more to move. Story of my life.
I always wanted a tri five Chevy sedan delivery and couldn't find a decent one. Bought the 55 Chevy wagon and saw two 55-57 Chevy deliveries.
Wanted a nice 56 Chevy h.t. Bought a 57 and saw two 56 hard tops.
Wanted a Nomad. Found one after buying the 57 h.t. and a 51 Ford.
    And on and on.

Wonder why he does not try eBay? I'd bet it would do very well there. This is a very photogenic and spotless Oldsmobile. All GM clamshell wagons have recently garnered great interest there. :yup:

One possibility is that ebay costs money whereas craigslist is free. He may not be in a hurry to sell so doesn't mind if the craigslist approach takes longer. But you're right. I think this car would go quickly on ebay.

I am going to be in St.Louis in about 2 weeks. If it is still around, I may need to check it out.
