My name is Scotty - I have a 1965 Ford Fairlane 500 wagon that I bought in 09. Mods so far - fuel injected 5.0, AOD trans (soon to change), 4.10 rear gear, Rod and Custom Mustang II front end. Twin turbos have been mocked up, just not ready to make that jump right now. All work has been completed in the garage at my house! We call her Black Betty....

Beam me up, Scotty... sorry, I couldn't resist...:Welcome: aboard.
That is one sinister looking wagon. It sounds real cool what you've done to it, and what you're doing to it.
I could see a lot of embarrassed Mustang and Camaro owners looking at your taillights.

Where is that tag from, BTW?

    Twin turbos, now that's cool!
I've been thinking it'd be cool to add efi to my 390. Then I think about how much $ that is.

It really wasn't that bad. I bought a used engine, trans, and computer. The only two big ticket items were the Painless engine harness, and the fuel pump, still less than a grand.
I used to race drag cars, go karts, Ucars, Mini Mods, and Legends cars which lead me to hate a carburetor!!! I know the old school guys will bulk at that, but I am just not a fan.

Sadly to get the goodies to go from carb to EFI on an FE looks to be pretty pricey.

Welcome, Nice wagon and like that you're making it your creation. I'm partial to Fairlane wagons. :tiphat:FE's are pricey all day long but are a good motor.

:Welcome: Customs are always more fun! Don't worry about the old school guys: they are stuck in the past (y)

We have a few original vehicles that are too nice to alter but if restoration is needed; then custom is in order! :D Enjoy your ride, I would love to see more picture, with check the garage area but if not there: please post!

Move is going well - my last day in Va is Thursday - then down there full time. I used JB weld's Water Weld on my tank and it seems to be working out. I will be living about 3 minutes from Dearborn Restorations - may be a bad thing on my bank account!!
